Mental Health is Preserved Wealth
Mental Health includes our emotional, psychological and social well-being. It affects how we feel, think and act. It also helps us determine how we handle stress, relate with others and make healthy choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood. When mental health is so predominant in our lives, what do you think could be possible ways to keep our minds healthy and clean? Of course! the well known answer would be therapy, it is always smart to discuss issues with a professional and seek help, But there are other ways too! These tips to balance yourselves are written down by me from doing small researches and experiences!
1. Value Yourself
Treat yourself with kindness and respect, and avoid self criticism. Make time for your hobbies and favorite projects, or broaden your horizons. Do a daily crossword puzzle, plant a garden, take dance lessons, learn to play an instrument or become fluent in another language.
2. Take care of your body
Taking care of yourself physically can improve your mental health. Be sure to : Eat nutritious meal, drink plenty of water, exercise (which helps decrease depression and anxiety and improve mood) and finally the most important part... Get enough sleep. Researchers believe that lack of sleep contribute a high rate of depression in students.
3. Surround yourself with good people
People with strong family or social connections are generally healthier than those who lack a support network. Make plans with supportive family members and friend, or seek out activities where you can meet new people such as a club, class or a support group
4. Give yourself :
Volunteer time and energy to help someone else. You'll feel good about doing something tangible to help someone in need - and it's a great way to meet new people.
5. Learn how to deal with stress
Like it or not, stress is a part of life. Practice good coping skills, like Breathing, exercise, nature walks, playing with pets and journaling. Also remember to smile and see the humor in life. Research shows that laughter can boost your immune system, ease pain, relax your body and reduce stress.
6. Quiet your mind
Try meditating, Mindfulness and prayer. Relaxation, exercise and spirituality can improve your state of mind and outlook on life. In fact research shows that meditation may help you feel calm and enhance the effects of therapy.
7. Set realistic goals
Sometimes, when we don't achieve tasks or goals created by us, we tend to loose hope and motivation, so instead of going overboard on your expectations, plan according to what is possible and take frequent breaks for your mind to refresh.
8. Break up the monotony
Although our routines make us more efficient and enhance our feelings of security and safety, a little change can pace can perk up a tedious schedule. Breaks, weekends and vacations gives an opportunity for our minds to refresh and restart. And when we get back to our regular schedules, we start getting ideas to approach our problems better than before.
9. Get help when you need it
Seeking help is a sign of strength - not a weakness. And it is important to remember that treatment is effective. People who get appropriate care can recover from mental illness and addiction and lead full, rewarding lives.
10. Empathize
Just like how you care about your own mental health, it is also important to care about the people around you have a healthy mind. You are responsible of that too, so as much as possible empathize with your buddies with how they feel when they're in a problem or just having a bad day. Talking helps, Trust me!
Hope these tips try to make a small change to your point of views.
