Why I Value Psychology?

Why I find Psychology Interesting ?

Hello everyone, hope all of you are doing good! I have always been a people person throughout my life, when I was in 10th grade I got introduced to psychology and it was love at first sight! I never knew that learning about Humans and their minds was considered as a study.
When I started learning more about it I knew that this was something I wanted to peruse when growing up. So I talked about this to my parents and they were very supportive. But, they also asked me a question, "What is your ultimate purpose to study psychology?". I was speechless, I didn't know what to answer because I didn't have one. The pandemic gave me time to think over and over again of what possibly made me fall in love with psychology, and finally, I found my answer. I decided to write this page about it because this is a huge part of my life which I thought is worthwhile sharing.\

Regardless of whether a person is going to pursue psychology, I believe, everyone must have a basic knowledge about it. Psychology helps you to get a better understanding of yourself. So since this subject revolves around you and covers various aspects of life and the way we interact with our friends, family and even strangers for that matter, all these things will help us to understand in a much better fashion when we study psychology.

Psychology is a reasoning oriented subject that always encourages you to rationalize that why events are occurring in a particular manner. We all have the experience of when we have seen someone and questioned their type of behavior and mannerism, so when we study psychology, you're more likely to understand others and the way they behave and think.

Another important benefit that you gain while studying psychology is that your communication skills will be improved significantly. Since you know how people think behave or act in a particular manner, You will be able empathize with them and this helps you to connect and communicate with others.

You will also be surprised to learn that your thinking shifts to solution oriented thinking, So whenever you're faced in a situation , you're more likely to look at it from a solution oriented aspect rather than a problem oriented aspect. So this helps you to cope up with challenges and obstacles and eventually it shapes your problem solving skills.

And finally you become Optimistic in life, since you're aware of your inner strengths, capabilities, and potentials, you're more likely to become confident as a person and at the same time you trust yourself. So this helps you to build an optimistic attitude towards life.

So these are the certain reasons of studying psychology that helps making you a better version of yourself and adds value and meaning to your life. I am not studying psychology as part of my school, but I sure am taking other courses and internships to learn more about it, and my learning DOES NOT stop here...
