All about Anger PART 1- Science of Anger
(Make sure to read this one thoroughly to have a better understanding of this post)

Anger  Management is something really important which helps people in their relationships with loved ones. Knowing the Science of anger, sometimes gives you a cautious sense of mind where you will be aware when your cocktail of hormones rise, resulting in us trying to control the emotion.
But this may not work for everyone or every time. The following tips and techniques are purely given by me with a little bit of research and personal experiences. Hoping this helps you :)

1) Let off steam (gently)

Just like any other emotion, anger needs to  be expressed, but there is a right way of doing it. Don't shout, scream or throw a tantrum, instead, have a conversation with  your  friends or parents about why you're feeling angry. Most of  the times, anger is caused  because  of an insecure feeling or a distress in your mind. A healthy way to clear it off at least for the moment is to know that you're not alone, and for you to feel that way therapy is the best option πŸ™‚ (Therapy can happen even with just your friends, parents and trusted people)  This will help you feel lighter!

2) Don't let the bottle pop

Famous author Mark Twain  has said...
But wait, Let us just not accept something that someone has claimed, let's try a thought experiment together to prove this :

Pick up a  glass  of water right now and imagine you're holding a glass of water in your out stretched hand. This glass weighs no more than 100 or 200 grams, It's not heavy,
you can hold it for 5 mins straight without dropping your arm or the glass, and feel no pain.
You can hold it for 15 mins, you start feeling a stretch in your arm.
Half an hour, your arm is really starting to  hurt now,
One hour, You're arm is throbbing, you can't hold it any longer and you drop your arm  and the glass shatters.

This has proven the statement of what Mr. Twain had claimed, The longer you keep holding on to your negative thoughts, it make you a ticking time bomb, not knowing when you're going to explode and how it may result on hurting the ones trying to help you.

3) Homemade Antidote to Anger

If you know me, you would know that I love story time πŸ˜€
so here's one just for you πŸ˜‰ :

Once upon a time a woman came to witty Birbal with a problem, "My husband is very angry all the time! whenever he opens his mouth, he starts fighting, please  give him a medicine", she said to Birbal.
Birbal was stumped, but he gathered his wits and procured a small  bottle for the lady, "This is a very special medicine,  If anyone angers your husband or he feels like fighting, tell him to drink this and count to 10 and all the anger will immediately disappear", he said, the woman left pleased and Birbal soon  forgot about the matter.
A  few weeks later, the woman came back more devastated than before, "The  medicine was working WONDERS!" she told Birbal, "But now it's over,  please give me some more", she begged. Hearing this Birbal  started laughing.
"Do you know what that medicine is ?"
"No."
"That medicine is nothing but water, The trick is not in the medicine, but what it does, since you're husbands mouth is full by drinking the water,  he cannot shout, and since I told him to count 1 till 10, his mind  used that time to calm itself down, and now he's no longer angry!"

Even in those days, behind Birbals' brilliant idea, there is science behind it.
By counting 1 to 10,  our bodies do not react according to our Amygdala's fight response, but allow for the logical response of the prefrontal cortex to kick in which requires a few seconds to activate.

4. LOL (Laugh out Loud!)

Another great way to control your anger is to laugh it away, try to find the humor in the situation  by using funny face filters on your phone or crack jokes with your friends 😜. After all, Laughter releases endorphins that produce a feel good effect on your mind and body

5) Substitute to end dispute!

The substitution  method is a Buddhist practice that encourages us to focus on the positive aspects of a person or a  situation instead of the  negative (This is my personal  Favorite method 😊)
For example, You're angry at the words of your brother, how about you appreciate the helpful actions or motivating thoughts that he otherwise shares with you,  this will increase empathy an decrease anger

6) Channel  your Anger

One thing about anger is  that it fills you up with a lot of energy, My last tip to anger management is making the best use of this creative energy
(a bit like Lord shiva's Thandavam dance πŸ˜‚)
If you're angry because you just fought with your friend,  then go out for that long overdue run in the fresh air,  use that anger energy for some self care.

Wow! that was a ride! I enjoyed writing this post, But just writing isn't going to accomplish my goal, Let's all try use these techniques and many more as you find and try to make sure to let our emotions get the best of us In the right way!
If you've as a reader have become a better person after this post, that is the true success for me πŸ™‚
This is the end of the Series 'All about Anger'.
See you soon with something brand new!
Goodbye for now!
